Magna Powertrain is seeking a skilled Mechatronics/Electrical Technician to perform journey-level maintenance in a stamping facility in Sterling Heights, MI. You will install, test, and repair electrical control systems for presses and automation equipment, ensuring uptime and safety.
The role requires experience with PLCs and CNC systems, ability to read schematics, and a commitment to 5S and process improvements. Must have own tools or access to required tools.

Objective: Perform skilled journey-level work in the construction, maintenance and repair of electrical and electronic equipment, apparatus and fixtures used in an industrial stamping facility supporting Manufacturing to meet production schedules and ensure work is performed in accordance with MIOSHA & Magna safety regulations and policies.
Scope All aspects and functions involved in the application of electrical theory and related knowledge to test and modify operational electrical machinery and electrical control equipment and circuitry and support continuous improvement and MAFACT activities for MPT Sterling Heights.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Read, write and speak English.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as Ohms Law, volts, watts, power consumption and necessary fuse ratings. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Manufacturing software such as RS Logix, and other pertinent software. Must be familiar with Microsoft Office.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to use problem solving when presented with problems or duties that do not have immediate answers or results.
Strong communication (oral and written) skills. Ability to use active listening. Able to clearly communicate technical details to all levels of the organization and in a fashion to allow effective problem solving.
Must be able to facilitate structured problem solving. Must actively participate in problem solving in a cross functional team activities.
