Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. in Chandler, AZ is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic I to perform basic preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and tools and assist in repairs within the Maintenance Department.

This role requires working knowledge of industrial electrical systems (480V/277V three-phase, 240V/120V), the ability to troubleshoot electrical control systems, read schematics, and use meters and test equipment. A High School diploma and 1 year of machine repair experience are required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in machine repair in maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and control technology, and welding.
  • Working knowledge of safe equipment practices and applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Hazardous waste and hazardous material handling procedures knowledge.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Performs regular, preventative maintenance on all machinery, equipment, tools, and building.
  • Assists in the repair of woodworking machinery, infeed/outfeed systems, hand tools, and forklifts.
  • Orders supplies and parts as required.
  • Maintains records of repair and maintenance activities.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area.
  • Performs duties consistent with safety rules and procedures.
  • Participates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings.
  • Reads and interprets electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control drawings.
  • Safely troubleshoots, diagnose, and repair electrical control systems, motors, motor starters, and VFDs.

## Maintenance - Electrical Controls KnowledgeApplylocations: Chandler, AZtime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Todayjob requisition id: R21615**Job Summary**The Maintenance Mechanic I is responsible for performing basic preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and tools, and assists other members of the Maintenance Department in various machine/building repairs.**Principal Duties and Responsibilities*** Performs regular, preventative maintenance on all machinery, equipment, tools, and building* Assists in the repair of woodworking machinery, infeed/outfeed systems, hand tools, and forklifts in accordance with diagrams, operating manuals, and manufacturer specifications* Orders supplies and parts as required* Performs preventive maintenance as scheduled* Maintains records of repair and maintenance activities* Performs duties consistent with established safety rules and procedures* Maintains a clean and organized work area* Participates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings* If assigned to Treating Department, performs duties consistent with hazardous waste and hazardous material handling procedures and practices* Prepares various reports as required* Performs other duties as required* Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems including 480V/277V three-phase power, 240V/120V single-phase power, and 24VDC control circuits.* Ability to safely troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical control systems, motors, motor starters, contactors, relays, sensors, limit switches, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).* Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control drawings.* Experience using electrical test equipment including multimeters, clamp meters, and voltage testers.* Knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation systems preferred.* Understanding of lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and electrical safety practices in a manufacturing environment.* Ability to identify and troubleshoot power distribution, control circuit, and machine electrical faults with minimal supervision.**Qualifications*** High school diploma* Minimum 1 year of experience in machine repair in maintenance* Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and control technology, and welding* Working knowledge of safe equipment practices and applicable laws, rules, and regulations* Demonstrate working knowledge of hazardous waste and hazardous material handling procedures and practices* Must be at least 18 years of age
