Job summary

AGI – Ag Growth International is seeking an Electrical Maintenance technician in Clay Center, KS to install and maintain electrical control systems for manufacturing operations. You will read schematics, troubleshoot PLCs, and ensure compliance with OSHA standards while supporting production with reliable equipment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and preferably an associate degree or technical certification in electrical technology, with experience in industrial settings.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification in electrical technology preferred.
  • Experience with electrical controls and maintenance in a manufacturing/industrial setting or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, and industrial controls.
  • Ability to read electrical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Familiarity with automated equipment and production machinery.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and electrical safety regulations.
  • Certified electrician or work equivalent preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable MVR if operating mobile equipment or company vehicles.
  • Regular and punctual attendance required.
  • Intermediate–Advanced computer skills for technical work instructions and HRIS requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on electrical systems, machinery, and production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, PLC, and control system issues to minimize downtime.
  • Install, test, and commission new electrical equipment and upgrades.
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Maintain and repair motors, drives, sensors, relays, and other industrial components.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults in automated systems and production lines.
  • Conduct inspections to identify potential issues and ensure safety compliance.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to improve equipment reliability.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately.

The Opportunity

Install and maintain electrical control systems. Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes.

Work Schedule

Full-time; may include overtime, weekends, or on-call shifts as needed to support production.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification in electrical technology preferred
  • Experience with electrical controls and maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting (or equivalent of education and experience)
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, and industrial controls
  • Ability to read electrical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints
  • Familiarity with automated equipment and production machinery
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and electrical safety regulations
  • Certified electrician or work equivalent – preferred
