Job summary

Valley View Care Center in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Maintenance Director to manage day-to-day facility maintenance, HVAC, lighting, grounds keeping, and the overall appearance. You will supervise maintenance and grounds staff and coordinate with outside vendors and contractors.

Responsibilities include planning and budgeting, preventive maintenance, coordinating third-party support, maintaining safety policies, and ensuring compliance with state survey requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 5+ years of related facility maintenance experience.
• Demonstrated mechanical and electrical knowledge and repair abilities.
• Knowledge of building and electrical codes.
• Excellent customer service skills with a commitment to delivering Excellent, Passionate, Innovative care.
• Team player, dedicated to supporting the team and getting the job done.

Responsibilities

• Plan, budget, and schedule facility modifications and equipment repairs.
• Direct and ensure preventive maintenance of the facility, including HVAC and other equipment.
• Arrange for and manage third-party contractor support, including cost estimates reviews.
• Direct and oversee the facility grounds keeping and overall facility appearance.
• Ensure facility compliance with annual State survey requirements for the building and grounds.
• Prepare and administer the department budget.
• Develop and maintain department policies and procedures, including safety policies.
• Order and maintain supplies for the department cost-effectively.
• Ensure daily completion of maintenance work orders in the electronic system.
