Qualifications

• Experience in building maintenance or facilities management.
• Knowledge of general building maintenance and repairs.
• Familiarity with MA building, fire, health, and long-term-care requirements.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and know when to bring in a contractor.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize maintenance requests.
• Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.
• Ability to respond to facility emergencies when needed.
• Ability to safely use common hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Identify maintenance and safety concerns and address promptly.
• Maintain preventative maintenance schedule and documentation.
• Maintain building systems; coordinate specialized service as needed.
• Perform repairs (plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, drywall, doors, locks, fixtures).
• Respond to maintenance emergencies and coordinate life-safety tasks.
• Maintain inspections, permits, and vendor work records.
• Supervise contractors and obtain repair estimates.
• Assist with snow, storm prep, and seasonal property care.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Prepare facility for regulatory inspections and fix deficiencies.
