Maintenance Director - Avamere Rehab of Hillsboro (Finance)

Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the maintenance department, including hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating staff and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, regulations, and policies to maintain a safe environment.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for all equipment and facilities.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations.
- Monitor quality of maintenance work and ensure adherence to standards.
- Manage the maintenance department budget and supplies.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities and inspections.
- Serve as a point of contact for maintenance issues with staff, residents, and vendors.
- Manage lifecycle of facility equipment, scheduling replacements and repairs.
- Inspect and maintain building systems such as plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and mechanical.
- Oversee contractors and ensure timely project completion.
- Develop safety programs and ensure compliance with safety codes.
- Maintain interior and exterior areas, install new equipment, and manage maintenance of tools and machinery.
- Manage entry locking devices, inventory, and supplies.
- Assist in establishing preventive maintenance programs and emergency preparedness.
- Supervise fire and safety programs, conduct inspections, and respond to emergencies.
- Ensure personnel follow safety procedures and maintain a safe environment.
- Attend department meetings and coordinate with other departments for smooth operations.
Requirements and Qualifications
- At least 3 years of maintenance experience in a building such as a nursing home, apartment complex, or business facility.
- Leadership or management experience preferred.
- Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, and mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems.
- Understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and ability to read blueprints.
- Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
- Create a warm, patient, and cheerful environment.
- Active CPR/BLS certification required.
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
