Job summary

Legend Senior Living® is seeking an outstanding Maintenance Director to lead the maintenance and housekeeping team within our senior living community. You will oversee staff, manage both manual and non-manual labor, ensure the residence and grounds are well maintained, and guarantee a safe, attractive living and working environment.

Your role includes supervising maintenance and housekeeping staff, managing budgets, and coordinating life safety and preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• Required: experience in maintenance, electrical, HVAC and repairs.
• Required: experience supervising maintenance and housekeeping staff.
• Required: working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining, inspecting and repairing equipment, systems, structure and grounds (electrical, carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, roof).
• Managing department budget and expenses, including inventory.
• Directly supervising all maintenance and housekeeping staff (hiring, training, scheduling, work orders).
• Obtaining quotes for third‑party repairs and ensuring vendors complete projects.
• Documenting work orders, preventive maintenance, inspections, warranties in the maintenance system.
• Scheduling preventive maintenance, life safety inspections and safety committee meetings.

Job Highlights

We are looking for an outstanding individual to lead the maintenance and housekeeping team as a Maintenance Director. You will make a difference in the lives of residents by looking after the place they call home. This includes managing your team, plus both manual and non-manual labor. This position ensures that the residence and grounds are well maintained, equipment operates properly and the residence provides a safe and attractive living and working environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining, inspecting and repairing the equipment, operating systems, structure and grounds of the residence, including electrical, carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, roof, etc.
• Managing the department budget and expenses, including supply inventory
• Directly supervising all maintenance and housekeeping staff to including hiring, training, scheduling, work orders, etc.
• Obtaining quotes for third party repairs and ensuring outside vendors complete projects as requested
• Utilizing the company maintenance management system to document work orders, preventative maintenance, required inspections, warranties, etc.
• Scheduling and completing preventative maintenance, life safety systems/equipment inspections, and safety committee meetings and follow-up based on schedule
• Fulfilling other duties as needed, such as Manager-On-Duty on a rotating basis, or being available after hours to ensure the proper running of the residence

Requirements

• Required: Previous experience in a related trade or position, preferably with expertise in electrical, HVAC and repairs and/or maintenance
• Required: Previous experience supervising maintenance and housekeeping personnel
• Required: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
