Job summary

La Bella of Caseyville is seeking a Maintenance Director to lead the maintenance team at our Illinois skilled nursing facility, ensuring safety codes compliance and proactive upkeep of all equipment and systems.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, coordinating with outside contractors, implementing a preventive maintenance program, and maintaining fire protection and building systems to safeguard residents and staff.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent is required.
• 2+ years’ experience working maintenance in long-term care.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the facility is well-maintained in a safe and comfortable manner
• Manage the operations of the Maintenance Department by adhering to proper staffing and scheduling of personnel
• Inspect storage rooms, work rooms, utility/janitorial closets, etc. for upkeep and supply control
• Participate in facility surveys made by authorized governmental services
• Ensure that outside services are properly completed/supervised in accordance with contracts/work orders
• Assist in establishing a preventative maintenance program
• Make daily rounds to ensure that maintenance personnel are performing required duties and ensure that appropriate maintenance procedures are being followed
• Maintain fire alarm and other fire protection and preventive systems
• Complete carpentry and other building repairs within the scope of expertise
• Monitor, maintain, and record inventory and orders supplies as needed
• Head snow and ice removal for the sidewalks

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

2+ years maintenance experience in long-term care

About the Role

As the Maintenance Director, you will oversee and supervise all aspects of the maintenance department, ensuring that the facility and grounds meet all related safety codes and that equipment and systems maintenance schedules are monitored and followed. Requirements

• Must possess, as a minimum, a high school education or its equivalent
• 2 or more years’ experience working maintenance in long-term care
• Working knowledge of multiple systems relevant to nursing home maintenance (ie., HVAC, plumbing, electrical) and life safety systems
• Must be knowledgeable of boilers, compressors, generators, etc., as well as various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
• Must be knowledgeable in building codes and safety regulations
• Must be able to handle calls outside of normal work hours for maintenance emergencies
