Job summary

Diversicare is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance, repairs and safety checks across facility infrastructure. You’ll log findings, coordinate with managers, and ensure building systems operate without interruption, while upholding confidentiality and resident dignity.

The role requires HVAC repair experience, basic electrical/plumbing skills, and a solid understanding of safety regulations. High school diploma or GED and basic computer skills are expected.

Qualifications

• HVAC repair experience is required.
• Electrical and plumbing repair skills are highly desirable.
• Knowledge of water heaters, generators, commercial kitchen equipment and refrigeration is a plus.
• Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations and blueprint interpretation.
• Completion of High School/GED or ability to read, write and follow directions.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Positive attitude toward the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance and maintains maintenance records as instructed.
• Perform building and equipment repairs, as per work order requests.
• Performs fire safety equipment tests under the guidance of the Regional Maintenance Director.
• Inspects building systems as scheduled and logs findings.
• Coordinates maintenance services with department managers to ensure building and equipment performance without interruption.
• Performs basic carpentry, drywall, flooring and painting as required to maintain favorable building appearance.
• Maintains the building in good repair and in compliance with local, state and federal laws.
• Follows established safety rules and policies & procedures of building.
• Order equipment and supplies as necessary; maintain proper records of repairs and purchases.
• May be required to drive for company business with either company vehicle or personal vehicle.
• Maintain resident confidentiality; treat residents with kindness, dignity and respect.

• Intermediate skillset in electric and plumbing repair highly desired.
• Knowledge of water heaters, generators, commercial kitchen equipment and refrigeration would be a plus but not required.
• Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations and blueprint interpretation.
• Completion of High School/GED education or otherwise show ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Positive attitude toward the elderly.
