Job summary

Johnson College in Scranton, PA seeks a part-time Maintenance Technician responsible for the overall upkeep and cleanliness of the campus.

The role covers general maintenance (painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC) and housekeeping of offices, classrooms, common spaces and restrooms. You will also assist with event setups and campus grounds tasks, following written instructions and safety rules.

Qualifications

• Valid PA driver's license required.
• Able to lift up to 80 pounds.
• Able to work on ladders at heights.
• Able to follow written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and upkeep of campus facilities including painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC.
• Clean offices, classrooms, common spaces, and bathrooms.
• Dust and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, vacuum, and empty wastebaskets.
• Strip, clean, buff floors and apply sealant; vacuum carpets.
• Assist with setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, events.
• Follow verbal and written instructions; complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Safely operate campus vehicles and related equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

This position is responsible for the overall maintenance, upkeep, and cleanliness of the College grounds, which includes housekeeping and maintenance of the campus.

Essential Job Functions:

• Responsible for general maintenance and repair including: painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC and vehicle maintenance.
• Clean assigned areas of the campus including offices, classrooms, common spaces and bathrooms.
• Dust and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty/clean wastebaskets.
• Strip, clean, buff and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets.
• Assist with set up of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events etc.
• Follow verbal and written instruction and complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Safely operate all vehicles and other job related equipment
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Must possess a valid PA drivers license, be able to lift up to 80 pounds, work off ladders at heights and be able to follow written instructions.

This is a part-time position. Monday through Friday 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm
