REPORTS TO: Our Lady of Lourdes Principal (primary) with support from Omaha Catholic School Consortium Director of Facilities

POSITION STATUS: Non-Exempt

Position Summary: Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School is looking for a school maintenance /custodial technician to help support and advance the mission of our school. This person is responsible for maintaining and cleaning school buildings, grounds and equipment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

· Responsible for minor maintenance, repairs, painting and care for all school buildings, storage facilities and grounds.

· Janitorial (cleaning, etc.) services of all school buildings, this may include some shared use spaces with Our Lady of Lourdes Parish spaces (e.g. gymnasium) and grounds.

· Follow or implement cleaning schedules for all facilities

· Perform ground maintenance and repairs including lawn mowing, snow and ice removal,

· Complete routine preventative maintenance to various plumbing, heating and electrical systems located throughout the campuses. Monitor environmental performance displays and document exceptions.

· Update task and project system with timely input and notifications.

· Set up and take down tables, chairs, tents, and fixtures for various functions throughout the campus.

· Order cleaning supplies with the approval of the maintenance supervisor

· Aid and oversee contractors for snow removal, property repairs, etc.

· Snow removal, to include all entrances to the church, rectory, business office, schools, sidewalks etc. Plow parking lots to remove snow, unless contracted out.

· Monitor property and equipment for environmental, safety and security issues or failures.

· The ability to work independently

· The ability to create a schedule and produce work in a timely manner

· Prior building maintenance experience

· Ability to organize and arrange priorities

· Initiative and self-direction

· Ability to communicate with co-workers, parishioners, teachers, students, supervisors, and others.

· High Level of discretion and integrity

· Ability to be reached by phone

· Flexible schedule to adapt to changing weather and event circumstances.

· On call availability (limited basis)

· Must be able to work on 8'-12'; ladders or elevated platforms.

Required Education and Experience:

· High School Diploma or GED (minimum)

· Archdiocese of Omaha Safe Environment Training Certification & Background Check

· Valid driver's license

· Must have a vehicle to transport oneself for some maintenance needs (e.g. to get hardware/supplies).
