North American Lawn and Landscape is a Charlotte-based commercial landscaping company with services including landscape maintenance, design and installation, irrigation, and stormwater management. We are seeking a Maintenance Crew Leader to oversee daily operations across our properties in the region.

The role requires hands-on supervision of crews, equipment, and safety protocols, with a focus on high-quality service delivery in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform manual labor in all weather conditions.
• Strong work ethic, reliability and attention to detail.
• 3+ years of job experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily prep of trucks, equipment and inventory.
• Report at 6:30 AM and prepare crew for assignments.
• Lead by example as first to arrive and last to leave.
• Oversee tool loading, securing and maintenance.
• Perform landscape tasks: mowing, edging, pruning, hedging, and debris removal.
• Provide on-the-job safety training and coaching.

About North American Landscape

North American Lawn and Landscape is a Charlotte-based commercial landscaping company with over 40 years of experience serving developers and property management professionals. We specialize in landscape maintenance, design and installation, irrigation, and stormwater management, with offices in Charlotte, Raleigh, Greensboro, and Savannah.

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Crew Leader to join our team and support the continued delivery of high-quality service across our properties.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the direction of operations for the Maintenance Division.
• Supervise daily preparation of trucks, equipment, and inventory.
• Report at 6:30 AM, review daily work, and prepare crew for assignments.
• Lead by example as the first to arrive and last to leave each day.
• Supervise loading and securing of all tools and equipment.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure equipment is in proper working condition.
• Perform and oversee landscape maintenance tasks, including mowing, line trimming, blowing, edging, hedging, weeding, raking, debris removal, and mulch or pine straw installation.
• Provide on-the-job training for crew members in safety, equipment uses, and techniques.
• Coach team members and track development progress.
• Complete accurate daily time sheets for all crew members.
• Track materials used and report on usage and sales opportunities.
• Review upcoming jobs and prepare daily work plans.
• Maintain vehicles and equipment including fueling, cleaning, and loading.
• Report damaged equipment immediately for repair and parts ordering.

Requirements

What Sets You Apart

• Ability to perform manual labor in all weather conditions, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
• Demonstrates a strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
• 3 + years of job experience (preferred).
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license (preferred).
• Must maintain a clean driving record or a motor vehicle record that meets company insurance standards.
• For driving roles: DOT medical clearance may be required.
• For driving roles: Must pass a drug screen.
• Spanish-speaking skills are a plus.

Performance Skills and Qualifications

• Perform physical activities such as lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying objects up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to safely operate or learn to operate common landscape maintenance equipment, including mowers, hand tools, shovels, blowers, pruning shears, and edgers.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to completing quality work.
• Ability to work in high-pressure environments while maintaining composure and a professional attitude.
