Job summary

The Town of Westborough Department of Public Works seeks a full-time Highway Maintenance Craftsperson to maintain town roadways, drainage, vegetation, and related infrastructure. On-call duties during weather events and emergencies are required.

Minimum of a high school diploma and 3–5 years in public works or construction; MA CDL Class B and Hoisting License for Backhoe/Front End Loader needed for higher wage range. Wage range stated is $24.28–$33.81 per hour, plus benefits.

Qualifications

HIGHWAY MAINTENANCE CRAFTSPERSON

Highway Division

The Town of Westborough Department of Public Works seeks applications from experienced, team-oriented individuals for the full-time position of Highway Maintenance Craftsperson. Position is primarily focused on general maintenance and repair of town roadways and associated right of way. Essential functions of the position include road repair, drainage infrastructure cleaning and repair, vegetation removal, excavation and pipe installation, road sweeping, and line painting. Additionally, the position requires availability for on-call duties during inclement weather events and other emergencies including snow and tree removal.

Applicants shall possess a high school diploma or general education degree and three (3) to five (5) years of experience in public works and/or construction and maintenance, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

To be considered for higher end wage range, applicants must possess a Massachusetts CDL Class B and Massachusetts Hoisting License for Backhoe/Front End Loader.

The position grade is W-4 with a wage range of $24.28 to 33.81 depending upon qualifications.
