Job summary

Wabash is seeking a Maintenance Technician I Coordinator in Lafayette, IN to support maintenance activities across the Duraplate division. You will help manage line calls, plan maintenance, and assist with shutdowns, while coordinating with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure safety and efficiency.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in maintenance, strong mechanical/electrical knowledge, and experience with SAP and SAP PM.

Qualifications

• Pre-employment drug screen required.
• Basic reading, writing and verbal skills.
• Excellent organization skills and ability to handle unexpected events.
• 1–3 years of related maintenance experience.
• Experience with SAP and SAP PM.
• Strong mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical knowledge (24DC, 120/277/480AC).
• Ability to read detailed engineering drawings, prints and electrical schematics.
• Ladder logic knowledge preferred.
• Knowledge of 480-volt AC/DC motor controls.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support Maintenance Supervisor in meeting departmental goals including line call management, PM completion, budget stewardship and project execution.
• Coordinate maintenance resources to address line calls while considering safety, quality and productivity.
• Work within the SAP PM environment to create, update, and close out work orders.
• Determine manpower requirements for planned work with Maintenance Supervisor.
• Prepare for planned/shutdown work and follow up for completion.
• Request quotes and generate purchase requisitions for materials for work orders.
• Print and organize PMs for Maintenance Technicians and review completed PMs for follow-up.
• Input shift notes into downtime tracker and communicate turnover work.
• Support production by minimizing equipment downtime and providing prompt responses.
• Complete planned maintenance and repairs of production equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Perform minor electrical tasks (sensors, fuses, breakers, etc.).
• Follow safety policies and adhere to company Leadership Principles and Values.
