Job summary

Shintech Louisiana in Plaquemine, LA, is seeking a Maintenance Planner to oversee fire suppression system inspections and PMs. You will work with Operations and Maintenance to validate deficiencies and define work scopes for projects, including RFQs and purchasing coordination.

The role requires strong organizational and teamwork skills. Responsibilities include developing master plans for repetitive tasks, scheduling with estimates and materials, and managing budgets and change orders.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in maintenance planning, project management or construction management in an industrial chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work within a team, be self-motivated, and deliver quality work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manages all annual inspections and PM’s for the site's fire suppression system.
  • Collaborates with Operations and Maintenance to validate and prioritize the fire suppression system deficiencies.
  • Assist in defining the work scope for each project. Develops the RFQ, works with Purchasing on job walks, and is the point of contact for each project.
  • Creates “Master Job Plans” for repetitive maintenance jobs.
  • Creates project schedules that include materials, estimates, and manpower needs to be submitted to management.
  • Manages the project’s schedule, budget and field change orders from start to finish.
  • Assist in documenting project phases and creating summary reports for Management.
  • Assist with any audits of the fire suppression systems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Required:
    • High School Diploma or GED
  • Preferred:
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with maintenance planning, project management or construction management in an industrial chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Qualifications:

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to access all plant areas.
  • Use of PPE is required in specific areas.
  • Regularly required to push, pull, bend, and perform long periods of standing and walking on cement foundations.
  • Climb stairs, straight ladders, and structures, etc.
  • Occasionally required to stoop and kneel.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to coordinate the movement of eyes, hands, feet, and fingers to operate tools and equipment.
