Job summary

Rio Rancho Public Schools Central Services - Facilities is seeking a Maintenance Coordinator to oversee the facilities maintenance workflow, coordinate work orders, and manage schedules for HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.

You will work with maintenance staff and contractors to ensure safety, quality, and timely completion of tasks across district sites during the 245-day contract.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • Trade or Vocational School Training, or equivalent experience.
  • Three years of experience supporting facility maintenance operations.
  • Working knowledge of CMMS and building control systems (CMMS/DDC).
  • General familiarity with fire protection systems.
  • Knowledge of building systems to coordinate maintenance activities.
  • Knowledge of commercial HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Knowledge of safety practices and hazards.
  • Ability to read basic schematics, operation manuals, and contract documents.
  • Current New Mexico Driver’s License with insurable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service to school sites, staff, and contractors.
  • Review, prioritize, and assign work orders to maintenance staff.
  • Review completed work orders for quality and completion.
  • Schedule events in the direct digital control (DDC) system.
  • Coordinate annual maintenance activities with the Maintenance Manager.
  • Assist with dissemination and reinforcement of safety procedures.
  • Purchase supplies to support maintenance activities with Manager approval.
  • Help develop scopes of work for maintenance projects.
  • Monitor contractor performance for scope, safety, and quality.
  • Dispatch and schedule contractors for regular and emergency work with Manager approval.
  • Prepare job estimates and prioritize materials, time, and labor.
  • Record work performed in the electronic work order system with labor hours and materials.
  • Use tools and vehicles safely following guidelines and PPE rules.
  • Assist Maintenance Director in planning projects and maintenance priorities.
  • Comply with state codes and RRPS policies; uphold conduct regulations.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Job Title: Maintenance Coordinator

Assignment: Facilities Department, Maintenance

Minimum Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of experience supporting facility maintenance operations;
  • Working knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems and building control systems (CMMS/DDC);
  • General familiarity with fire protection systems;
  • Working knowledge of building systems sufficient to coordinate maintenance activities;
  • Knowledge of commercial HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems;
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety practices;
  • Ability to read and understand basic schematics, operation manuals, and contract documents; and
  • Current New Mexico Driver’s License with insurable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in facilities coordination, lead support, or operations support roles; and
  • Experience coordinating contractors or vendors.

Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Provides excellent customer service to school sites, staff, and contractors;
  • Reviews, prioritizes, and assigns work orders to appropriate maintenance staff;
  • Reviews completed work orders to ensure proper completion and quality control;
  • Coordinates scheduling of school events in the direct digital control (DDC) system;
  • Coordinates annual maintenance activities in collaboration with the Maintenance Manager;
  • Assists with dissemination and reinforcement of safety procedures and policies;
  • Upon approval of Manager, purchases supplies necessary to support maintenance activities;
  • Assists in developing scopes of work for maintenance and repair projects;
  • Coordinates and monitors contractor performance to ensure compliance with scope, safety, and quality expectations;
  • Dispatches and schedules contractors for regular and emergency work upon approval by Manager;
  • Assists in preparing job estimates and prioritizing materials, time, and labor;
  • Receives and accurately records work performed in the electronic work order system, including labor hours, materials, and contracted services;
  • Uses assigned tools, equipment, and vehicles safely and in accordance with manufacturer and District guidelines;
  • Ensures use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with the Maintenance Safety Plan;
  • Assists and advises the Maintenance Director in planning projects and setting maintenance priorities;
  • Complies with state-approved New Mexico Administrative Code of Ethical Responsibility of the Education Profession and the RRPS Employee Standards of Conduct and upholds and enforces rules, administrative directives and regulations, school board policies, and local, state and federal regulations; and
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
Work Hours: Eight
  • (8) Hours Per day / 245-day contract;
  • Supervisor may assign additional work hours;
  • Employees are required to perform On-Call duties; and
  • Employees are required to perform Emergency Call-Back.
