Job summary

Storm Search LLC is seeking a Maintenance Control Coordinator to supervise the quality, quantity, and timely completion of line maintenance across an active aircraft fleet. This role collaborates with Maintenance, Flight Operations, Dispatch, Planning, Materials, Engineering, and Quality to return aircraft to service safely and efficiently.

• Authorize and supervise contracted/on-call maintenance providers performing aircraft maintenance.

Job description

We are seeking a Maintenance Control Coordinator to oversee the quality, quantity, and timely completion of line maintenance activities across an active aircraft fleet. This position works closely with Maintenance, Flight Operations, Dispatch, Planning, Materials, Engineering, and Quality teams to coordinate corrective actions and ensure aircraft are returned to service safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate will have an FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license, strong aviation maintenance knowledge, and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and oversee maintenance assignments for aircraft at gates and hangar operations.
• Redirect work assignments as operational needs change.
• Authorize and supervise contracted/on-call maintenance providers performing aircraft maintenance.
• Provide technical and logistical support to Maintenance and Flight crews regarding aircraft maintenance discrepancies.
• Support resolution of Minimum Equipment List (MEL) items, configuration issues, and maintenance-related schedule disruptions.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Flight Dispatch, Maintenance Planning, Materials, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure timely corrective action.
• Monitor maintenance progress and provide ongoing follow-up for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
• Coordinate aircraft ferry flights and assist with aircraft recovery and relocation of parts when necessary.
• Evaluate when charter services or other transportation solutions may be required to recover grounded aircraft.
• Collect and communicate information regarding maintenance- or materials-related flight delays and cancellations.
• Ensure deferred MEL items remain current and within authorized time limits.
• Communicate maintenance status and work progress to other controllers and maintenance control personnel.
• Assist with shift turnover reports and ensure accurate communication between shifts.
• Complete maintenance records, work orders, internal documentation, and required computer system transactions.
• Provide coaching and on-the-job training as directed.
• Maintain all required recurrent training and comply with applicable procedures and regulations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license.
• At least 1 year of related experience in Maintenance Control or a similar aviation maintenance environment.
• Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, technical maintenance instructions, procedures, and related documentation.
• Ability to make sound day-to-day decisions in a time-sensitive operational environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in Maintenance Control.
• Previous experience as an A&P mechanic.
• Previous airline maintenance experience.
• FCC license preferred.
• This is a 24/7 operational environment.
• Ability to work nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods.
• Frequent use of hands, fingers, and arms for computer and operational tasks.
• Ability to travel up to 10%, including occasional overnight travel.
