THE OPPORTUNITY

CRST is seeking a Maintenance Compliance Coordinator to support the safe, compliant operation of our transportation equipment. In this onsite role, you will help manage the licensing, permitting, inspection, maintenance, and compliance records that keep equipment operating safely and in accordance with federal, state, and local requirements. You will work closely with maintenance, operations, safety, legal, and other internal teams to track renewals, address documentation gaps, prepare reports, and follow issues through resolution. This is an opportunity for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who takes ownership of deadlines, enjoys solving problems, and is comfortable working with data, systems, and documentation in a fast-paced transportation environment.

How You’ll Work
  • Location: Onsite in Cedar Rapids, IA
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
  • Compensation: Expected hourly range of $17.20–$25.81, based on relevant experience, skills, internal equity, and work location.

What You’ll Do
Licensing, Permits + Renewals
  • Coordinate applications, renewals, and tracking for required licenses, permits, registrations, and certifications for company equipment.
  • Monitor expiration dates and follow up with internal teams, vendors, and agencies to help prevent compliance gaps.
  • Address licensing, permitting, and registration issues in a timely manner.
Equipment Compliance & Documentation
  • Maintain accurate records for equipment compliance, inspections, repairs, maintenance activity, licenses, permits, and certifications.
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local transportation regulations, including equipment safety, inspection, operation, and maintenance requirements.
  • Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, identify missing information, and drive timely resolution.
Reporting + Issue Resolution
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on licensing status, renewals, compliance metrics, and outstanding requirements.
  • Help oversee the reporting and investigation of equipment-related incidents and violations.
  • Track follow-up actions through completion and elevate issues when deadlines or compliance requirements are at risk.
Collaboration + Continuous Improvement
  • Partner with maintenance, operations, safety, legal, and other teams to support equipment compliance requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on licensing, permitting, documentation, and equipment compliance processes.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to help improve compliance processes and equipment safety.

GOING THE EXTRA MILE
  • Experience in transportation, fleet, maintenance, safety, equipment, licensing, permitting, or regulatory compliance.
  • Experience maintaining vehicle or equipment records, inspection documentation, maintenance files, registrations, permits, or certifications.
  • Familiarity with DOT, FMCSA, federal, state, or local transportation and equipment regulations.
  • Experience using Excel or other systems to track deadlines, renewals, reports, and compliance metrics.
  • Experience supporting incident reporting, audit preparation, corrective actions, or violation resolution.
  • Associate’s degree or additional training in transportation, logistics, maintenance, business administration, safety, or a related field.
