Job description

A position has been declared open in Maintenance for a Maintenance Laborer/Carpenter. This position is for 8 hours per day, 12 months per year. RELATED EXPERIENCE IS DESIRED. Job Summary

Under the supervision of the assigned foreman, the Maintenance Laborer assists maintenance personnel with a wide variety of maintenance work.

Essential Functions

1. Work with and receive direction from journeyman-level personnel. Assignments may include tasks related to carpet laying and painting.
2. Stock and clean parts, storage, and work areas.
3. Assist with snow removal as required (shoveling, operating snowblower and/or snowplow).
4. The list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be adjusted to fit job requirements.
5. Must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Effective communication skills.
• Hold and maintain a valid Utah driver's license appropriate for the duties.
• Ability to lift and work with heavy tools and equipment.
• Experience in carpentry.

Education and Training

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively for job performance.
• At least one year of relevant work experience.
• Skills in carpet laying, VCT tile, and painting are helpful.
