Job Description

Job Title: Maintenance & Commissioning Technician

Job Summary: The Maintenance & Commissioning Technician is responsible for overseeing the general upkeep of our client’s specialty thermal room equipment and as needed serve as the commissioning technician during the commissioning & startup of the equipment. Their role is to maintain the equipment on a schedule basis as outlined in our maintenance agreement with the client. The technician can manage technical repairs like inspecting and fixing issues with any of the specialty equipment. This position will maintain customer satisfaction through direct contact providing troubleshooting assistance and resources to assist in problem-solving.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Electrical & Controls knowledge and understanding is a MUST
  • Travel to jobsites is a MUST (80-90% time spent on the road)
  • Commission, Train and Start-up equipment during project installation. This will include startup of equipment, installation of trim parts, installation of glass doors and full testing & startup of the thermal rooms.
  • Work with clients and their local maintenance staff to trouble shoot any problems at the project site with equipment or controls
  • Respond to all customer inquiries; provide technical assistance, document complaints, determine and implement appropriate actions
  • Provide technical assistance and training to all representatives and factory/field service personnel
  • Listen and respond to customers’ needs and concerns; provide information about products and services; research answers and/or solutions
  • Follow customer service protocols to ensure customer satisfaction requirements are met
  • Assist in establishing parts inventory, provide spare parts lists/kits and price parts/equipment for wellness projects to ensure resource availability, allocation and procurement of elements
  • Review diagrams, drawings, and schematics with the customer, end users, process and controls engineers, and designers to assure functionality and safety requirements are met; to include: cause and effect diagrams, and function block diagrams; architectural drawings and equipment drawings; electrical, electronic, electro-mechanical, hydraulic/pneumatic, thermal schematics and associated systems
  • Work closely with Clients, Project Managers and Supervisors on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for all aspects of cost management including: reporting forms, travel expense reports, etc.
  • Continuously develop relationships to identify and cultivate opportunities
  • Provide Improvements to Maintenance Programs to resolve any maintenance issues that will be shared with clients as well as other staff members
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities /Required:

  • High School Education with 3-5 years equivalent industry work experience, or 5-10 years of direct industry experience
  • Electrical knowledge and experience is a mandatory requirement for consideration
  • Experience with troubleshooting and repair of PLC Systems
  • Strong mechanical aptitude required with basic understanding of thermal dynamics and associated equipment
  • Experience & understanding of Building Management Systems is a plus
  • Able to read, interpret and create electrical schematics and manufacturing drawings
  • Must be able to multi-task, capable of working proficiently on multiple projects at once
  • Must have proven strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Organizational skills required and must be detail oriented
  • Proven record of ability to deliver results in both supervised and unsupervised environments
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, phone and electronic (Spanish is a plus)
  • Strong knowledge with application of Microsoft Office products is required.
