Job summary

Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Maintenance Carpenter – Level 3 to join our team in Redondo Beach, CA. The role is 100% onsite with a 2nd shift schedule, performing skilled maintenance, repair, and finish carpentry to support facilities.

Strong reading of blueprints and safe work practices are essential. The candidate will work with woodworking tools and perform repairs, installations, and basic facility tasks, ensuring safe and functional environments.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 4 years carpentry-related experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain structures and equipment from blueprints and instructions.
• Perform rough-to-finish carpentry on buildings, partitions, benches, scaffolding, platforms, and trim.
• Operate woodworking tools such as electrical saws, routers, drills, planers, lathes, jointers, molders, borers, and sanders.
• Make shop computations for dimensions and material selection.
• Install pictures, whiteboards, monitors, and similar items.
• Perform basic repairs of ceiling tiles, drywall, and roofs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Description

Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Maintenance Carpenter – Level 3 to join our team in Redondo Beach, CA. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. The Carpenter performs skilled maintenance, repair, and finish carpentry work to support industrial and commercial facilities. This role requires expertise in woodworking, facility repairs, and blueprint interpretation to maintain safe and functional work environments. This position will work 2nd shift.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain various structures and equipment in industrial and commercial establishments from detailed blueprints, drawings, and oral instructions.
• Perform rough-to-finish carpentry work on buildings, office partitions, benches, scaffolding, framework, platforms, and trim.
• Operate woodworking tools such as electrical saws, routers, drills, planers, lathes, jointers, molders, borers, and sanders.
• Make shop computations relating to dimensions of work and select necessary materials.
• Install pictures, whiteboards, monitors, and other similar items.
• Perform basic repairs of ceiling tiles, drywall, and roofs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
• 4 years carpentry-related experience.
• Ability to inspect, identify, and provide solutions to repair systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active DOD Secret Clearance.
• Large/Multi‑Site Facilities Carpentry experience.

Benefits

• Primary Level Salary Range: $66,600.00 - $111,000.00.
