Job Description

The Kennett School District is accepting applications for two Maintenance/Bus Driver positions for the 2024-2025 school year. Applicants need a Class B – Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger Endorsement or must be willing to obtain the necessary license. Training will be provided on‑site with the Maintenance/Transportation Supervisor.

Title: Maintenance/Bus Driver

Qualifications: Class B – Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger Endorsement

Reports To: Transportation and Maintenance Supervisor

Performance Responsibilities:

Obeys all traffic laws.
Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
Maintains discipline while students are on the bus.
Reports undisciplined students to proper authority.
Keeps assigned bus clean.
Follows assigned schedule.
Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects.
Notifies authority in case of mechanical failure.
Discharges students only at authorized stops.
Exercises responsible leadership on out-of-district school trips.
Transports only authorized students.
Reports all accidents and completes required reports.
Completes assigned work orders.
Proactively takes responsibility for repair and maintenance of buildings and grounds.
