Job summary

Environmental Management, Inc. is seeking an experienced Maintenance Branch Manager to oversee daily maintenance operations, ensure exceptional service, and drive profitability across the Columbus branch.

You will supervise field crews and intermediaries, manage client relationships, and lead safety and budgeting efforts. The role requires strong leadership, field operations experience, and the ability to work across sales and account management to retain contracts and grow the business.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience managing landscape maintenance, property maintenance, construction, or related field operations.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience managing large teams.
  • Experience overseeing budgets, labor forecasting, and operational performance.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational software systems.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily branch operations to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and profitably.
  • Develop monthly forecasts and operational plans to achieve revenue and production goals.
  • Monitor daily production reports and project performance.
  • Coordinate labor, equipment, and material resources.
  • Ensure quality standards are met across all service locations.
  • Identify operational improvements and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Serve as a primary operational contact for customers.
  • Conduct site visits and property inspections to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Address client concerns and implement timely solutions.
  • Partner with Sales and Account Managers to maintain strong customer relationships and contract retention.
  • Identify opportunities for additional services and enhancements.
  • Review site conditions and recommend improvement projects.
  • Collaborate with Sales Representatives to prepare proposals and pricing for customers.
  • Manage branch profitability and operational budgets.
  • Monitor labor hours, equipment utilization, and production costs.
  • Review daily, weekly, and monthly performance metrics.
  • Ensure projects are completed within budgeted hours and financial targets.
  • Directly supervise 50-75 employees and 5-8 supervisors.
  • Recruit, hire, train, coach, and develop field personnel.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Establish measurable performance expectations and success metrics for direct reports.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Conduct field training and coaching sessions.
  • Enforce safe work practices and proper equipment operation.
  • Promote a safety-first culture throughout the organization.
  • Utilize company software systems for forecasting, production tracking, scheduling, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with administrative staff to maintain accurate operational and financial records.
  • Understand and utilize estimating, accounting, and operations management software.
  • Participate in snow removal and winter weather operations.
  • Be available during snow and ice events, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Maintenance Branch Manager / Operations Manager
Job Summary

EMSI, Inc. is seeking an experienced and results-driven Maintenance Branch Manager to oversee daily maintenance operations, ensure exceptional delivery service, and drive profitability across the branch. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Operations Manager, this role is responsible for managing field operations, supervising crews and supervisors, maintaining client satisfaction, ensuring safety compliance, and achieving operational and financial goals.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience managing large teams, expertise in landscape or property maintenance operations, and a proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and customer relationships. This position also requires participation in EMSI's Winter Services (Snow & Ice Management) Division.

Key Responsibilities
Operations & Project Management
  • Manage daily branch operations to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and profitably.

Schedule

  • Required participation in winter snow operations.

Responsible for overall management of Specified Columbus Region. Responsible for providing leadership and training necessary for the crew leaders to obtain their goal of completing quality project maintenance. This manager will occasionally work alongside crews in the field. Communicates and resolves all issues related to maintenance to ensure all maintenance operations meets company standards.
