Job summary

Trane Technologies seeks a maintenance technician to perform mechanical installation and repair work in the plant. You will troubleshoot, repair, and test mechanical equipment and hydraulic circuits, fabricating shop fixtures as needed.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance on engines and conveyors, reading manuals and drawings, and coordinating with departments. The role requires MIG welding skills and on-site, on-call readiness as part of a safety-conscious team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in industrial or facilities maintenance; certs accepted in lieu of experience.
  • Reading and understanding technical manuals, mechanical drawings and prints.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical & hydraulic systems, diagrams and test instruments with various pressures.
  • Knowledge of electrical preventative maintenance and repairs, lock-out/tagout, disconnecting and removing motors and VFDs, IO cards, PLCs, etc.
  • Must be able to MIG weld and provide proof of training/experience.
  • Experience with Salvagnini punching and forming equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Installs mechanical systems, fabricates production carts and fixtures, troubleshoots and repairs shop equipment and systems per codes.
  • Examines, installs, and maintains various mechanical systems and recommends equipment improvements.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyors and production machines per manuals and specs.
  • Usually works alone and reports to the maintenance supervisor.
  • Communicates maintenance implications to all departments and external parties.

What's in it for you:
  • Performs all types of mechanical installation and repair service for the facility utilities and machinery in the plant,participatesin the maintenance, troubleshooting, replacement, repair, and testing of mechanical equipment and hydraulic circuits.
  • Fabricate shop equipmentutilizingshears, drills, and welders.
What you will do:
  • Installs mechanical systems,fabricateproduction carts & fixtures, troubleshoot and repair shop equipment and systems according to national and local codes.
  • Examines, installs, andmaintainsvarious mechanical systems and make recommendations for new equipment or improvements.
  • Completion of preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Typicallyworksalone andreportsto the maintenance supervisor.
  • Communicates to all departmentsregardingany implications for maintenance work.
  • Communicateswith a computer to manufacturers, suppliers or maintenance equipment, and external parties.
What you will bring:
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in industrial or facilities maintenance technical school certification in a related field accepted in‑lieu of experience.
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals, mechanicaldrawingsand prints.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical & hydraulic systems,diagramsand test instruments with various pressures.
  • Knowledge of other maintenance tasks, such as electrical preventative maintenance and repairs, lock‑out/tagout, disconnecting andremoving motors and VFD’s, IO cards, PLCs, etc.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to provide applicable certifications or technical school degrees.
  • Must be able to MIG Weld - proof of training or experiencerequired.
  • Experience with Salvagnini punching and forming equipment is a plus.
