Job summary

MAU Workforce Solutions is hiring a Maintenance Automation Technician for our client in Newnan, GA. You will program, modify, troubleshoot, and improve automated manufacturing equipment while diagnosing machine controls, servo systems, drives, software, and industrial electrical systems.

This is a direct-hire opportunity offering hands-on PLC work and opportunities for Siemens and Allen-Bradley training, with a focus on continuous improvement in an industrial setting.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Hands-on PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience with automation systems, servo motors, drives, controls, and machine software.
  • Industrial electrical knowledge including 480V three-phase systems and control panels.

Responsibilities

  • Program, modify, troubleshoot, and improve PLC programs and automation solutions for manufacturing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot automated manufacturing equipment, including PLCs, servo motors, VFDs, controls, drives, and machine software.
  • Connect to equipment using a computer to diagnose issues and perform programming changes.
  • Diagnose machine failures through software, control panels, and electrical systems.
  • Identify root causes of automation and electrical failures and restore operation.
  • Support electrical maintenance needs for automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Collaborate with remote engineers to diagnose issues and support automation solutions.
  • Participate in ongoing technical training, including Siemens and Allen-Bradley training.
  • Improve equipment through programming, controls, and automation solutions.

Job description

MAU is hiring a Maintenance Automation Technician for our client in Newnan, GA. As a Maintenance Automation Technician, you will program, modify, troubleshoot, and improve automated manufacturing equipment while diagnosing machine controls, servo systems, drives, software, and industrial electrical systems. This is a direct-hire opportunity.

Work Schedule

Required Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Hands-on PLC programming and troubleshooting experience
  • Experience working with automation systems, servo motors, drives, controls, and machine software
  • Industrial electrical knowledge, including 480V three-phase systems and control panels
Preferred Education and Experience
  • 4–5+ years of relevant industrial automation, controls, or maintenance experience; open to less experience for candidates demonstrating strong technical aptitude and growth potential
  • Technical training preferred over a formal associate degree
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, PLCs, VFDs, robotics, servos, or industrial automation systems
General Requirements
  • Ability to connect to equipment using a computer to access machine controls, diagnose issues, and perform programming changes or updates
  • Ability to diagnose machine failures through software, control panels, and electrical systems
  • Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including panels, fuses, interlocks, I/O, and machine diagnostics
  • Ability to independently identify root causes and restore equipment operation
  • Ability to read electrical schematics
  • Ability to collaborate with remote engineers and participate in ongoing training
  • Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Essential Functions

  • Diagnose machine failures through software, control panels, and industrial electrical systems
  • Troubleshoot 480V three-phase electrical systems, control panels, fuses, interlocks, I/O, and related machine controls
  • Identify root causes of automation, controls, and electrical failures and restore equipment operation
  • Support electrical maintenance needs for automated manufacturing equipment
  • Collaborate with remote engineers to diagnose equipment issues and support automation and controls solutions
  • Participate in ongoing technical training, including Siemens and Allen-Bradley training
  • Improve automated manufacturing equipment through programming, controls, and automation solutions
