Job summary

Bachoco USA in Muldrow, OK is seeking a Maintenance Automation Technician to preserve, repair, and maintain computer-controlled systems and robotic devices in our production line. The role covers diagnostics, preventive and corrective maintenance for PLCs, robotics, conveyors, and electrical distribution within a food manufacturing setting.

The position requires 1+ year in related roles with extensive experience in industrial electricity, instrumentation, and programmable controllers.

Qualifications

  • Requires more than 1 year experience in the plant or related roles.
  • Requires 3 years experience in Industrial Electricity and 3 years combined with instrumentation and programmable controllers; 2 years of training or apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

  • Check daily parameters of critical control points (temperature, weight, amperage, pressure).
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance of electrical, electronic and control equipment.
  • Supervise external contractors on electrical/electronic projects; advise Engineering on new setups and sanitary design.
  • Coordinate corrective maintenance to reduce downtime.
  • Maintain substations through preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize lost time.
  • Ensure electrical panel organization and cleaning to safety standards and Food Quality requirements.
  • Own power distribution and schedule MCC and transformer PMs.
  • Manage panel documentation, breakers, and schematics.
  • Install, maintain, and replace automation systems at production points.
  • Troubleshoot servos, sensors, and control components.
  • Log equipment usage and maintenance to maximize functionality; report automation status to leadership.

Bachoco USA is seeking a Maintenance Automation Technician for our Muldrow, OK location.

Work Schedule: Friday - Tuesday (6:00 AM - 3:00 PM)

Summary:

Preserve, repair and maintain the computer-controlled systems and robotic devices to maximize efficiency. Performs routine diagnostic checks on automated systems, monitor automated systems, isolate problems and perform repairs. Performs service to control systems ranging from electromechanical devices and systems to high-speed robotics and programmable logic controllers(PLCs). These types of systems include robotic assembly devices, conveyors, batch mixers, electrical distribution systems, and building automation systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Check daily the parameters of the critical control points: temperature, weight, amperage and pressure, in order to correct deviations in time and form.
  • Execute and coordinate preventive maintenance of electrical, electronic and control equipment, to guarantee the availability and operation of the equipment.
  • Coordinate and supervise the implementation of electrical, electronic and control projects carried out by external personnel (contractors), in order to improve facilities and processes. Be the technical resource for Engineering for new projects involving setup, calibration, new technology, and sanitary design.
  • Coordinate and execute the corrective maintenance of electrical, electronic and control equipment, in order to reduce wasted time.
  • Coordinate and supervise the performance of preventive and corrective maintenance to substations, in order to reduce lost time.
  • Comply with all electrical panel organization and cleaning to a personnel and food safety required standard. To comply with requirements established by the Food Quality and Safety System
  • Own and understand our power distribution and drive timely execution of MCC and transformer PMs.
  • Manage all panel documentation, including breaker labeling and machine schematics at the equipment.
  • Install, maintain, and replace automation systems at key points in the production process
  • Troubleshoot non-functioning components including servos, sensors, and control components
  • Log equipment usage, parts replacement, and scheduled maintenance to ensure maximum functionality
  • Periodically report to leadership regarding automation capabilities and status
  • This is a safety sensitive position.
Education and/or Experience
  • Requires more than 1 year experience on this job or related jobs in the plant or elsewhere.
  • Requires 3 years 'experience in Industrial Electricity as well as 3 years combined experience with instrumentation and programmable controllers, and 2 years of electrical/electronic training or apprenticeship.
