Starting Salary Range: $18.47 - $20.32 per hour

Position: Maintenance Attendant I – Parks

Position No: 7.178

Department: Leisure Services – P&R

This role involves manual labor in the Parks and Recreation Division. Responsibilities include grounds and general maintenance tasks at parks, athletic, and recreation facilities, and various projects across the City, using related equipment.

Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
  • Knowledge of grounds maintenance tools, equipment, and native plant materials.
  • Ability to learn the City’s geographical area.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks requiring strength and endurance, including lifting up to 75 pounds and routinely up to 50 pounds overhead.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with colleagues and the public.
Training, Certification, and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience in heavy manual labor, grounds, and general maintenance.
  • Or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
Additional Requirements

Compensation and Benefits

Total Compensation: $38,417 - $55,655

  • City's Medical Contribution: $10,092
