Job summary

Diocese of Venice, Inc. in Port Charlotte, FL seeks a part-time Maintenance Associate to help maintain parish grounds and facilities. The role is 25 hrs/week, hourly/nonexempt, reporting to the Pastor.

You will perform lawn care, pruning, irrigation, and general upkeep to keep the parish property safe and inviting. You should be able to operate basic landscape equipment, lift up to 50 lbs, and work outdoors in Florida weather.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic landscaping experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must pass background check (FDLE Fingerprint) and post-offer physical exam.
• Must enjoy outdoor work in Florida weather.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and cultivate parish grounds including mowing, pruning, planting, irrigation.
• Operate small power equipment such as lawnmowers and weed eaters.
• Hang hurricane shutters when needed.
• Other duties as directed.

Overview

St. Charles Borromeo Parish is looking for a part-time Maintenance Associate to assist with maintenance of grounds at the Parish property.

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for maintaining and cultivating grounds-including, but not limited to planting, pruning, weeding, mowing, irrigation.
• Adhere to proper cleaning methods, storage, and proper care of equipment and supplies.
• Operate small power equipment such as lawnmowers, weed eaters, pressure washer, etc.
• Landscape and grounds maintenance, equipment and possibly golf cart maintenance.
• Hang hurricane shutters when needed.
• Other duties as directed.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Need to have basic landscaping experience skills.
• Self-motivated individual able to work independently.
• Must enjoy and have ability to work outside in Florida weather.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb, bend, kneel, stretch, reach throughout day.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must pass background check, including Fingerprint (FDLE Level 2).
• Must pass a post offer DOV assigned physical exam.
