SUMMARY:

Loomis Village is seeking a passionate and self-motivated individual to join our team as a Maintenance Associate: Groundskeeper. If you thrive outdoors and enjoy collaborating with others, this is the perfect opportunity for you! You'll play a vital role in supporting resident landscaping efforts, including maintaining trails and community gardens to ensure they are attractive and functional for residents and staff. This role reports to the Facilities Director and collaborates with residents performing duties listed in this job description. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Follow established policies and procedures to ensure optimal operation, maintenance, and condition of the grounds. Perform daily responsibilities assigned by the Facilities Director, utilizing skills such as trail maintenance (brush-hogging, weed-whacking, pruning), woodlot management (tree clearing, invasive vine removal, planting saplings), gardening (weeding, pruning, planting, assisting resident volunteers), and other duties (spreading ice melt, leaf blowing, power washing).
  • Carry out maintenance services efficiently, safely, and professionally within established timeframes. Maintain safe, clean, and orderly work areas. Keep logs of services, materials, time, and maintenance performed as per documentation requirements.
  • Comply with all applicable local, state, federal, regulatory, and accreditation standards, including CARF/CCAC, Life Safety, DPH, CMS, EOAI, OSHA, and NFPA. Assist with maintaining department records and implementing corrective and preventive measures.
  • Communicate effectively with the Facilities Director, Maintenance Supervisor, staff, residents, contractors, and vendors regarding projects, repairs, quality of work, materials, timelines, resident requests, etc.
