Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Maintenance Associate for a contract-to-hire role based in Eatontown, NJ. The position focuses on hands-on facility maintenance, cleaning, basic repairs, and safety inspections in a manufacturing-style environment.

The role requires ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work indoors and outdoors, and operate floor cleaning equipment with a Monday–Friday first-shift schedule. Competitive hourly wages are offered along with standard benefits.

Qualifications

  • Experience performing building or facilities maintenance in industrial or similar environments.
  • Hands-on maintenance using basic hand tools for repairs and upkeep.
  • Knowledge of basic plumbing repairs including light maintenance tasks.
  • Experience operating cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers and related machinery.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing daily tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail when inspecting, cleaning, and maintaining facility areas.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality to support consistent facility operations.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly as part of daily maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance and upkeep of the facility, interior and exterior.
  • Replace light bulbs, air filters, and damaged ceiling tiles for lighting and air quality.
  • Inspect and maintain emergency equipment to ensure readiness and safety compliance.
  • Operate floor scrubbers and other cleaning equipment to maintain clean floors and areas.
  • Clean windows and maintain exterior grounds and common spaces.
  • Perform basic and light plumbing repairs, e.g., fixing leaks or replacing simple components.
  • Salt and shovel walkways during snow/ice to maintain safe access.
  • Handle garbage and recycling collection, removal, and disposal per procedures.
  • Carry out routine facility inspections to identify maintenance needs.
  • Assist with facility-related projects and repairs, including painting and minor upkeep.
  • Conduct groundskeeping to keep exterior neat and presentable.
  • Perform janitorial duties as needed to maintain a safe workspace.
  • Follow safety procedures and best practices to ensure a safe workplace.

Job Description

The Maintenance Associate performs a wide range of general maintenance tasks to keep the facility clean, safe, and fully operational. This role focuses on maintaining both the interior and exterior of the building, supporting daily operations through hands‑on repairs, cleaning, and routine inspections. The position involves working with basic tools and equipment, addressing minor plumbing issues, and ensuring that emergency and building systems remain in good working order.

Responsibilities
  • Perform general maintenance and upkeep of the facility, including both interior and exterior areas.
  • Replace light bulbs, air filters, and damaged ceiling tiles to ensure proper lighting and air quality.
  • Inspect and maintain emergency equipment regularly to ensure readiness and compliance with safety standards.
  • Operate floor scrubbers and other facility cleaning equipment to maintain clean floors and common areas.
  • Clean windows and maintain the appearance of facility grounds and common spaces.
  • Add salt to water treatment systems as needed to support proper operation.
  • Perform basic and light plumbing repairs, such as fixing leaks or replacing simple components.
  • Salt and shovel walkways during snow, ice, or other inclement weather conditions to maintain safe access.
  • Handle garbage and recycling collection, removal, and disposal in accordance with facility procedures.
  • Perform routine facility inspections to identify maintenance needs and address issues proactively.

  • Carry out groundskeeping tasks to ensure the exterior of the facility remains clean and presentable.

  • Work both independently and as part of a team to complete assigned maintenance tasks efficiently.
Essential Skills
  • Experience performing building or facilities maintenance in an industrial or similar environment.
  • Hands‑on maintenance experience using basic hand tools for repairs and upkeep.
  • Knowledge of basic plumbing repairs, including light plumbing maintenance tasks.
  • Experience operating cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers and related machinery.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing daily tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail when inspecting, cleaning, and maintaining facility areas.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality to support consistent facility operations.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis as part of daily maintenance activities.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors as needed, including in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong safety awareness and commitment to following safety procedures and guidelines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with groundskeeping tasks such as exterior cleaning and basic landscape upkeep.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eatontown, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
