Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Maintenance Associate at a large production facility in DeKalb, IL. You will perform preventive maintenance, inspections and repairs on building systems, ensuring reliability and energy efficiency.

CBRE is currently seeking a Maintenance Associate to perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on building systems including custodial components. This role supports energy efficiency, ensures compliance with safety codes, and assists with equipment installations and modifications. Ideal candidates have basic mechanical experience, strong organizational skills, and the physical ability to handle manual tasks in a fast‑paced environment.

This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repairs on building systems.
  • Conduct routine maintenance inspections, diagnose potential problems, and make repairs.
  • Assist with the installation and modification of building equipment and systems.
  • Review assigned work orders and partner with available systems to track completion.
  • Support energy management by ensuring all building systems are operating efficiently.
  • Inspect existing installations for compliance with building codes and safety laws.
  • Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems. Exchange straightforward information in a clear, concise manner.
  • Impact team through defined duties, methods and tasks as described in detail.
  • Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.
What You’ll Need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience, GED, or trade school diploma with 1-2 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
  • Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
  • Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and manage work orders through a CMMS.
  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The maximum salary for the Maintenance Associate position is $52,000 annually. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on their skills, qualifications, and experience. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
