About Us

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our Property Maintenance team in Newmarket. If you have experience in general building maintenance, a practical mindset, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, this is a great opportunity to join a supportive and professional team where your skills will be valued and developed.

The Role

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety, upkeep, and operational efficiency of our properties. You'll carry out a variety of maintenance tasks including carpentry, tiling, basic plumbing, and repairs. Your day-to-day work will support the delivery of a safe and high-quality environment for all staff and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out general maintenance and repairs, including carpentry, tiling, and fixes to windows, doors, and locks.
  • Install and repair guttering and drainage systems.
  • Conduct basic plumbing work and source materials as required.
  • Liaise with contractors and supervise their work when necessary.
  • Support colleagues by providing cover during absences and responding to call-outs.
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Undertake any additional tasks requested by management within the scope of the role.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a hands-on, dependable team member with:

  • Proficiency in using basic hand tools and knowledge of one or more trades (e.g., carpentry, tiling, plastering).
  • A full, clean UK driving licence.
  • Proven experience in a similar maintenance role.
  • A basic understanding of current Building Regulations.
  • Strong practical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions.
  • A positive attitude, adaptability, and a commitment to high standards.
