# Maintenance Assistant: Lake County Catholic School NetworkPart TimeLake County Catholic School NetworkWickliffe, OHMaintenance Assistant**Lake County Catholic School Network | Wickliffe, Ohio** **Status:** Part-Time **Hours:** 25 hours per week **Schedule:** Coordinated with the Principal; occasional evening flexibility required### Position SummaryThe Lake County Catholic School Network (LCCSN) is seeking a dedicated, reliable, and hardworking **Maintenance Assistant** to join its facilities team. The Maintenance Assistant will help maintain a functional, clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, and visitors.Working closely with the Head of Maintenance, this position will assist with daily custodial duties, routine school upkeep, building repairs, grounds maintenance, and event setup.### Essential Responsibilities#### Custodial Duties* Assist custodial staff with high-priority daily tasks as needed.* Remove trash and maintain clean and orderly facilities.* Assist with floor upkeep and related custodial tasks.#### Maintenance Support* Assist the Maintenance Manager with routine building repairs.* Perform painting and related maintenance tasks.* Assist with changing light fixtures.* Perform basic plumbing and carpentry tasks as directed.* Use basic hand and power tools safely and appropriately.#### Safety & Compliance* Ensure hallways, exits, and other areas remain clear of hazards.* Monitor building security during assigned shifts.* Report major maintenance or safety issues immediately to the appropriate supervisor.* Follow school safety procedures and established maintenance protocols.#### Event Setup & Support* Arrange and move tables, chairs, equipment, and other materials for school events.* Assist with event setup and breakdown as needed.#### Inventory & Grounds* Help monitor cleaning supply inventory and notify appropriate staff when supplies need replenishment.* Assist with basic exterior and entryway upkeep.* Provide additional grounds support as needed, particularly during winter months.### Qualifications**Preferred Experience:*** Previous custodial, janitorial, or general maintenance experience in a school, commercial, or institutional setting.**Skills & Abilities:*** Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe cleaning practices.* Familiarity with floor care equipment.* Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.* Strong attention to detail.* Dependable and reliable work ethic.* Ability to work independently and take direction from the Head of Maintenance or school administrator.* Ability to respond appropriately to routine maintenance and facility needs.### Physical RequirementsThe position requires the ability to:* Stand and walk for extended periods.* Bend, reach, and perform routine physical maintenance tasks.* Regularly lift and move up to **50 pounds**.* Safely climb ladders.* Work in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments.### Safe Environment Requirements* Successful completion of a required background check.* Completion of **VIRTUS child protection training** prior to employment.### Schedule & Compensation**Hours:** 25 hours per week.The schedule will be coordinated with the Principal, with occasional flexibility required to support evening school events.**Compensation:** Competitive and commensurate with experience.### About Lake County Catholic School NetworkThe Lake County Catholic School Network is committed to providing a supportive school community where students, faculty, staff, and visitors can learn, work, and participate in a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.The Maintenance Assistant plays an important role in supporting this mission by helping ensure school facilities remain functional, well-maintained, and ready to serve the school community.### To ApplyInterested candidates should submit:* Résumé* Diocese of Cleveland employment applicationApplications should be submitted to the **LCCSN President** at:**Email:** [e-mail]
