Maintenance Associate
$25.00 / Hour
The Maintenance Associate is responsible for maintaining facilities in a safe operating condition, addressing immediate operational and safety concerns, and monitoring refrigeration units and kitchen equipment across all SSP America locations. This role reports directly to the Maintenance Manager and Director of Operations.
Essential Functions
- Coordinate with restaurant managers and external vendors to resolve equipment issues and perform maintenance.
- Install system components such as refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, and gas kitchen equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment to ensure they are in safe working condition.
- Monitor kitchen and refrigeration equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Perform preventive maintenance activities like replacing filters, belts, and thermostats.
- Document activities through repair logs, status reports, and punch lists.
- Prioritize work orders based on importance and location for efficient repairs.
- Repair various commercial kitchen system components to ensure safety and functionality.
- Request necessary equipment, parts, and supplies to maintain inventory and complete repairs.
- Respond to emergency situations during and after hours to resolve safety issues.
- Transport tools, equipment, and supplies to ensure availability at job sites.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support team efficiency.
- Support SSP business objectives.
Skills and Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED with 3-5 years' experience in food/beverage maintenance or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of safety standards and hazardous materials handling.
- Experience with operating skilled trade equipment and tools.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities, develop effective relationships, and demonstrate mechanical aptitude.
- Valid Driver's License and proof of insurability; Refrigeration License preferred.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, ability to work under pressure, and excellent communication skills.
- Proactive, self-directed, and able to handle multiple projects.
- Flexible schedule to support operational needs, including working individually and in teams.
- Ability to manage conflicts and exercise sound judgment in stressful situations.
