Clatsop County occupies the northwest corner of Oregon bounded to the north by the Columbia River and to the west by the Pacific Ocean. Named for the Clatsop Indians, Clatsop County is rich in history, scenery and opportunity.

$4,886.94 to $5,940.09 PER month
40 hrs/wk M-F (Flexible shifts will happen during events to include evening and weekend hours)

ABOUT CLATSOP COUNTY

Today Clatsop County is one of nine Home Rule counties in Oregon. Five non-partisan elected Commissioners set policy and appoint a full-time County Manager, who is responsible for daily operations. County services are provided through these divisions: County Administration (County Manager), Assessment and Taxation, Budget and Finance, County Clerk, Juvenile, Public Health, Public Works, Community Development, the District Attorney, and Sheriff’s Offices. The county also administers a road district, a rural law enforcement district, and a local sewer district.

The County Fair Board, appointed by the County Commission, in accordance with ORS 565, holds exclusive authority for the management of the fairgrounds. Additionally, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Clatsop County and the Fair Board further outlines responsibilities, including the management and oversight of fairgrounds staff. This position operates under the direction of the Fair Board as defined by these governing frameworks.

The purpose of this position is to support the preparation and maintenance of facilities and grounds for the Clatsop County Fairgrounds and scheduled events by ensuring a safe, organized, and customer-focused environment that reflects a high standard of professionalism and public service.

Mandatory Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of experience in grounds and/or building maintenance, facility operations, or construction.
  • Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acceptable.
  • Obtain Pesticides Applicator Certification for Herbicides within 12-months of hire.
  • Must possess and maintain driving privileges in the State of Oregon.
Requested Qualifications
  • Successful completion of classes and/ or certification(s) in electrical, plumbing, or other trade.
  • Apprenticeship in any of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or related field.
  • Pesticides Applicator Certification for Herbicides.
