EXAMINATION IS ANNOUNCED TO SUPPLEMENT THE EXISTING ELIGIBILITY LIST TO FILL TWO (2) CURRENT EAST JEFFERSON VACANCIES AND SEVEN (7) CURRENT WEST JEFFERSON VACANCIES IN THE STREETS DEPARTMENT; ONE (1) CURRENT WEST JEFFERSON VACANCY IN THE WATER DEPARTMENT; AND ONE (1) CURRENT EAST JEFFERSON VACANCY IN THE PARKWAYS DEPARTMENT.
This employment list will also be used for future EAST AND WEST Jefferson vacancies in various Departments as they occur. Under direct supervision, the role is responsible for manual semi-skilled laboring work in ONE OR MORE of the following categories: Asphalt Raker, Catch Basin Builder, Cement Finisher, Jack-Hammer Operator, Tire Repairer, Water Services, and Sewerage Services. Work is usually performed outdoors under varied weather conditions. Certain positions require driving a Parish vehicle, thus possession of a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record will be given preference for such positions.
NOTE: Selective certification of eligibles with a valid Louisiana Class D driver's license or higher will be used in filling some vacancies. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and meet at least ONE of the following:

NON-COMPETITIVE - All persons meeting the stated requirements on this announcement will be issued an Employment Eligibility letter for Laborer, Semi-Skilled and have their name forwarded to the appointing authority when vacancies arise.
