Job summary

Provision Living is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support the Maintenance Manager in keeping our facility safe, clean, and in excellent condition for residents and staff.

You will assist with preventative maintenance, repairs, apartment prep, and safety audits, while delivering courteous, resident-focused service in a senior living environment.

Qualifications

  • General knowledge of building systems (plumbing, HVAC, electrical) and equipment repair.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members and residents.
  • Strong customer service and hospitality mindset towards residents, associates, and visitors.
  • Self-motivated with accountability for results.
  • Respect and understanding of seniors and aging processes.

Responsibilities

  • Follow and execute preventative maintenance for facility and equipment.
  • Maintain building interiors and grounds, including cleaning and minor repairs.
  • Repair and maintain facility equipment to ensure proper function.
  • Prepare apartments for move-ins, including painting and floor/ceiling work.
  • Audit fire safety and emergency procedures; distribute MSDS as required.
  • Inspect apartments for hazards and coordinate maintenance activities.
  • Maintain quality assurance records for physical plant.
  • Assist with resident transport as scheduled.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

As the Maintenance Assistant, reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, you will ensure the provision of quality maintenance care in accordance with Federal, State and Local regulations by supporting the maintenance department in maintaining the building, interior of building and grounds safely, and in exceptional appearance and working condition.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
  • Follows and executes the preventative maintenance program for facility and equipment
  • Assists with maintaining grounds including outside building repair and lawn maintenance
  • Maintains all areas inside the building, including offices, to include, but not be limited to: cleaning and shampooing of carpets and furniture, window cleaning, and the maintenance and replacement of vinyl floors.
  • Maintains and oversees repair of facility equipment in order to ensure proper function
  • Prepares and refurbishes apartments for resident move-ins in lieu of and/or under direct supervision; including painting, carpet laying, replacement of vinyl floors and installation of ceiling fans
  • Audits and ensures all fire safety and emergency records and procedures are in compliance with regulations and environmental concerns (natural disasters, fires, loss of electricity, plumbing issues, pipe breakages, etc.) as well as distribute material safety data sheets (MSDS)
  • Inspects resident apartments for potential problems and hazards in lieu of and/or under direct supervision
  • Schedules and/or performs preventative maintenance and keep quality assurance records up-to-date for physical plant in lieu of and/or under direct supervision
  • Transports residents in company vehicles as scheduled in lieu of and/or under direct supervision
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements
Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Skills/Experience
  • General knowledge of all building systems and related code requirements, systems included plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and equipment repair.
  • Collaborative team player able to establish effective working relationships with team members.
  • Demonstrated experience in promoting a high level of customer service and hospitality towards and among all residents, associates, and visitors.
  • Self-motivated to accomplish goals with a strong sense of accountability for results.
  • Possess an appreciation of seniors and an understanding of the aging process.
  • Must exhibit and promote a high level of customer service, hospitality, curiosity and friendliness towards all prospects, residents, visitors, associates, and the overall community.
Travel

Travel is not required.
