Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Winston-Salem, NC seeks a Maintenance Assistant to perform semi-skilled tasks maintaining building, grounds, equipment and appliances under the direction of the Maintenance Director. You will safely operate tools, handle repairs, perform preventative maintenance, assist with painting, grounds upkeep, and help transport residents as needed.

A high school diploma and two years of maintenance experience are required, plus the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work flexible

Qualifications

  • Two years of maintenance experience required.
  • Knowledge of building maintenance practices and materials.
  • Must be detail oriented and well organized.
  • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to work with others as part of a team.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate tools and equipment used in maintenance.
  • Disassemble and move furniture as needed.
  • Perform preventative maintenance per schedule.
  • Paint and prep surfaces as directed.
  • Maintain exterior grounds and assist with landscaping.
  • Transport residents safely in community vehicle to appointments.
  • Attend mandatory staff meetings and training.
