The Grand Hotel features 185 bedrooms and extraordinary suites, a glamorous cocktail bar, a buzzing New York style restaurant, and eight magnificent meeting and event rooms - as well as the spectacular, Louis XIV-style Grand Ballroom.
As a multi-skilled Maintenance Assistant, you work within the “heart of the house” and use your proficiency and flair to keep the iconic Grand Hotel to the high standard befitting such a landmark.
Utilising your core skill sets of carpentry, plumbing, and painting & decorating you will support the maintenance department with all proactive and reactive up keep of this beautiful property
What you will do
• Perform routine building maintenance duties, including painting, plumbing, carpentry, minor electrical repairs and heating and ventilation systems maintenance
• Welcome and respond to all colleague and guest requests for maintenance assistance
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues relevant to the maintenance department
• Complete all PPM schedules alongside weekly and monthly checklists
• Operate machinery with care and caution and use chemical products correctly as trained and directed
• Shared pride and ownership of hotel security and compliance
• Must have experience in a similar role as a maintenance assistant, it would be beneficial if this was within a hotel
• Painting and decorating skills are desirable
• Promote a pro-active and positive attitude and display the ability to ‘make things happen’ to achieve or exceed anticipated results
• Strong organisational, time management and communication skills
• Due to the nature of the work, the ideal candidate would be fully flexible in their approach to work and be able to work shift patterns through weekdays and weekends
