A leading company in post-acute care is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support daily maintenance operations. The role involves coordinating maintenance tasks, ensuring safety protocols, and maintaining resident comfort. Candidates should have strong communication skills and a minimum of a 10th grade education.
Ensure maintenance schedules are followed for respective shifts or areas. Report all accidents/incidents to your supervisor, regardless of severity, on the shift they occur. Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing staff when performing routine tasks in resident areas. Perform other duties as directed by your supervisor, department director, or administrator.
Maintain resident confidentiality by not disclosing protected health information and reporting any violations promptly. Attend departmental and staff meetings as scheduled. Follow work assignments and maintenance policies and procedures.
Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, and driveways, including tasks like trimming and sweeping. Conduct repairs on the facility and equipment, such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical work, following established procedures. Clean windows, replace bulbs, and service heating/cooling units as needed.
Complete unscheduled maintenance tasks and ensure supplies are replenished. Maintain the facility for resident comfort and report equipment malfunctions promptly. Follow safety precautions and assist with lifting heavy items. Clean and store equipment properly at shift end.
Maintain confidentiality of resident information and report any unauthorized disclosures. Inform residents when moving their personal possessions.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and Experience: Minimum 10th grade education.
Language Skills: Ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism. Tactful communication with personnel, residents, visitors, and external agencies. Maintain care of supplies and equipment, and incorporate new methods into maintenance practices.
Mathematical Skills: Apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability: Solve practical problems, interpret instructions in various formats.
Occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds. Prolonged use of computers. Regularly sit, stand, walk, talk, read, and hear. Assist in evacuations if necessary.
Noise level is usually low to moderate. Reasonable accommodations can be provided for disabilities.
