Job summary

Regency at Troy is seeking a Maintenance Worker/Assistant to uphold a clean, safe environment for residents, staff and visitors. The role supports mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring equipment is operational and compliant with safety standards.

Responsibilities include scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and maintaining emergency power and life support systems. A high school diploma and relevant experience are preferred, with opportunities for growth and benefits including tuition

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Minimum of one year physical plant and equipment experience in an institutional environment.
• Vocational training in a skilled trade or related training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate competence in applying mechanical and technical concepts to facility repairs and maintenance projects.
• Maintain essential mechanical, electrical and patient care equipment in safe operating condition.
• Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions with technical knowledge and analytic ability.
• Apply building and safety codes to facility situations and maintenance procedures to meet quality standards.
• Conduct scheduled maintenance throughout the physical plant and for all equipment.
• Test and maintain the emergency power system to ensure power for entrances, exits, alarms and life support systems.
• Maintain critical equipment such as boiler room equipment and nursing unit refrigerators in safe condition.
• Test facility hot water systems and regulate temperatures in essential locations.
• Inspect and maintain the comfort and safety of the facility’s communication systems.

The Maintenance Worker/Assistant performs various duties to maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, staff and visitors. Maintenance services are provided in accordance with facility policies and procedures and in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations to enhance resident comfort and enhance the quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate competence in application of mechanical and technical concepts to facility plant repair and maintenance projects.
• Able to maintain all essential mechanical, electrical and patient care equipment in safe operating condition.
• Technical knowledge and analytic ability to diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions.
• Able to apply building and safety codes to facility situations and maintenance procedures and to establish criteria to assure that services provided meet acceptable standards of quality.
• Conducts scheduled maintenance throughout physical plant and for all equipment.
• Maintains and tests the emergency power system to ensure availability of power to all entrances, exits, fire detection alarms and extinguishing equipment, and life support systems in the event of electrical supplies are interrupted.
• Maintains all essential equipment (e.g., boiler room equipment, nursing unit/medication room refrigerators, kitchen refrigerator/freezer, laundry equipment) in safe operating condition.
• Tests facility hot water system on regular basis to evaluate water temperatures in essential locations of facility.
• Inspects, tests, and maintains resent call system to ensure a functioning communication system from rooms, toilets and bathing facilities.

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year physical plant and equipment experience in an institutional environment.
• Vocational training in skilled trade or other relevant training preferred.
