Job summary

Sapphire Rehabilitation of Northtowns is seeking a full-time Maintenance Assistant responsible for repairs to the facility building and furnishings, ensuring resident and staff safety.

Key duties include developing preventive maintenance procedures, managing heating, plumbing, carpentry and painting tasks, scheduling repairs, and performing regular quality checks to meet standards and codes. The role requires weekend shifts every other week and adherence to safety and health requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Related work experience required.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and construction systems.
• Valid driver''s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures.
• Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality.
• Plan and schedule repairs.
• Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure they meet standards and codes.
• Perform general maintenance including painting, carpentry, and facility upkeep.
• Ice and snow removal.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Sapphire Rehabilitation of Northtowns is currently seeking a full-time Maintenance Assistant. This position is responsible for ensuring resident and staff safety by being responsible for repairs to the facility building and furnishings.

The Maintenance Assistant will be required to work every other weekend.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures.
• Manage heating and plumbing systems to guarantee functionality.
• Plan and schedule repairs.
• Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard and code.
• Perform general maintenance tasks including painting, and carpentry.
• Clean and assist with upkeep of facility.
• Ice and snow ice removal.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 yrs. age required, HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Related work experience required.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and construction systems and methods.
• Basic knowledge of tools and their use.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry and painting skills.
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record required.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions required.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
• Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend and crawl into awkward spaces.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
