LAFOURCHE ARC in Thibodaux, LA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep buildings, grounds, vehicles and machinery in peak condition. You will perform cleaning, painting, lawn care, basic plumbing and electrical work, and assist with repairs across multiple Lafourche Arc premises.

This position is responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of buildings, grounds, vehicles and machinery in a condition of operating excellence, cleanliness and safety. Duties include but are not limited to: cleaning, painting, lawn maintenance, weed and pest control, replacement of lights, debris removal, minor plumbing and electrical work, equipment evaluation and repair, smoke detector maintenance, construction, etc. This person will also work in other Lafourche Arc's premises (Main Office, Community Homes, Vocational Buildings, Apartment Complex) when needed.
Other duties may be assigned or required.
Typical work hours (7:30AM-4:00PM Monday-Friday) unless requested to work otherwise by supervisor or designee.
Clocks in and out at main office facility. Will punch in/ out for 30-minute lunch break.
Monitoring of transportation fleet (operational condition). Basic maintenance of fleet vehicles (change burnt lights, change windshield wipers, seal water leaks, clean rear air condition filters, check tire pressure and wear, battery, air filter, and fluid levels.).
Conducts thorough facility cleaning, as directed. Assures that all exits are accessible and free of obstructions. Assists others with cleaning and organizing donations as needed.
Remove all unwanted animals, pests, and insects from the buildings or grounds.
Reports to other Lafourche Arc's premises when needed.
Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as may be assigned.

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to exercise independent judgment. Ability to assess, project and plan for departmental needs. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Must have chauffeur's license to provide transportation Must also meet all requirements set forth by Lafourche Arc's insurance policy/carrier..
