Job summary

Prestige Senior Living is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to keep the community safe and well-maintained. You will perform preventive maintenance on buildings, equipment, and grounds, and respond to repairs under the Maintenance Director's supervision.

You will work across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting tasks, monitor temperatures to meet safety codes, and uphold fire safety and chemical procedures in daily operations.

Qualifications

• Must have a vocational or trade school degree in general maintenance, or three years of experience in carpentry, electrical, or painting work.

Responsibilities

• Provide preventive maintenance for the building, equipment, and grounds.
• Perform repairs under the supervision of the Maintenance Director across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting tasks.
• Monitor and record building and water temperatures to meet safety codes.

• Perform floor care in resident areas and common spaces; assist with grounds maintenance.

In this job, every day you will...

• Provide assistance in delivering preventive maintenance for the building, equipment, and grounds.
• Perform repairs under the supervision of the Maintenance Director and within area of expertise including, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting and in accordance to accepted codes.
• Monitors and record building and water temperatures and adjusts to meet regulations and safety codes.
• Ensure strict adherence to community fire safety and hazardous chemical procedures, promptly address all unsafe conditions or equipment problems.
• Perform floor care on an ongoing basis, including carpeting in resident apartments and common areas of the community.
• Remove trash gathered by housekeepers and caregivers on a daily basis.
• Maintain grounds in a professional, well-groomed manner by performing grounds maintenance on a regular basis or working with a landscape company to maintain grounds in an appropriate manner.

Education & Experience You Need To Qualify

You will need a Vocational or Trade School degree in general maintenance or three years of experience in carpentry, electrical or painting work. Experience with budgets helpful.
