Job summary

Somerset Ridge (2) is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support residents and the facility with hands-on maintenance tasks, including painting, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and carpentry.

You will respond to work orders, perform inspections, and help ensure compliance with safety and building codes while keeping tools and workspaces organized.

The role requires reliability, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and the willingness to work independently or with a team as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior maintenance, facilities support, or related experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor.

Responsibilities

• Assist with general maintenance duties including painting, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry repairs.
• Respond promptly to work orders and maintenance requests.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks.
• Help ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety and building codes.
• Maintain clean and organized maintenance tools, equipment, and work areas.
• Assist with emergency repairs and after-hours on-call maintenance as needed.
• Support seasonal tasks such as snow removal, landscaping, and pest control.

• Reliable, self‑motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor.
• Valid driver’s license preferred (depending on facility needs).
