Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Maintenance Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to our maintenance department by performing a variety of tasks related to the upkeep, repair, and safety of our facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a commitment to quality service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the general maintenance and repairs of buildings and grounds, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry tasks.
  • Perform routine inspections of facilities and equipment to ensure functionality and safety.
  • Help troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues promptly, liaising with the maintenance supervisor as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including work orders and inventory management.
  • Assist in the setup and takedown of equipment and furniture for events and gatherings.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas, tools, and supplies.
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Respond to urgent maintenance requests in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to complete projects effectively.
  • Learn and apply new skills relevant to maintenance operations.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities role is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of building systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC) and maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good physical condition and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform manual labor.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
