Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is seeking a Maintenance Assistant in Richmond, VA to support day-to-day upkeep across multiple trades including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and painting. You will assist skilled technicians, coordinate with vendors, and maintain accurate work documentation.

The role requires 1–2 years of related experience, a valid driver’s license, and a willingness to participate in a rotating on-call schedule.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 1-2 years related work experience in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to participate in rotating on-call schedule.
• Ability to frequently climb, bend, kneel, lift, and work on ladders, up to 50 lbs.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist the facilities team in the maintenance and repair of the building and related equipment.
• Perform general maintenance including carpentry, HVAC, electrical, plumbing and painting.
• Assist with basic troubleshooting of HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Perform room set-up/tear-down for events.
• Perform inspection of the campus by cleaning up debris and materials.
• Perform alterations to furniture and relocation of client’s boxed belongings as needed.
• Perform chaperone duties for third-party vendors performing work at the campus.
• Move outbound/inbound packages to/from the Shipping & Receiving area.
• Complete assigned work orders in CMMS and maintain appropriate service documentation.
• Maintain tools, parts, equipment and supplies in clean and safe conditions.
• Work collaboratively with the onsite JLL team and under the direction of the Sr. Facility Manager.
• Provide customer service to our client.
• Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs.
• Support on‑call or emergency response situations.
• Other projects and tasks to be assigned.

The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day upkeep, repair, and operational efficiency of the facility. This role involves performing routine maintenance across multiple trades—such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and painting—while assisting skilled technicians and ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment. The Maintenance Assistant actively participates in preventive maintenance, facility inspections, event set-up/tear-down, furniture relocation, and coordination with third-party vendors, while maintaining accurate work documentation and inventory. Strong collaboration with the facilities team and client-focused service are critical, making this position essential to sustaining smooth operations and a well-maintained campus.

Required Qualifications

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, from 6:30 am to 4:00 pm

Estimated compensation for this position: 60,320.00 – 66,560.00 USD per year This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
