Job summary

Sunlit Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga, CA seeks a dedicated maintenance professional to oversee the facility's plant maintenance, safety, and day-to-day operations. You will ensure compliance with state and local regulations, schedule repairs, manage tools and equipment, oversee preventative maintenance for resident rooms and common areas, and keep fire safety and alarm systems in working order.

This role reports to the Administrator and requires attention to resident rights, infection control

Responsibilities

• Maintains the physical plant to ensure safety for residents.
• Ensures facility is compliant with state and local regulations.
• Completes facility repairs in a timely manner.
• Maintains and stores facility tools and equipment properly.
• Oversees preventative and ongoing maintenance to resident areas as scheduled.
• Keeps major equipment (appliances, heater, AC, plumbing) in good working order.
• Monitors furniture and fixtures and ensures condition is good.
• Identifies hazards and safety issues and takes corrective action.
• Implements monthly and annual maintenance and repair schedules.
• Uses checklists to verify building systems (water temp, kitchen equipment).
• Ensures fire safety equipment and alarms function correctly.
• Maintains resident communication system operational.
• Ensures infection control, waste disposal and universal precautions are in place.
• Keeps work areas clean and safe, with proper storage of supplies.
• Orders and maintains maintenance parts and supplies.
• Prepares resident rooms for move-in.
• Reports to Administrator for professional repairs when needed.
• Protects resident rights and reports any abuse promptly.
• Knows whom to call in case of a resident emergency.

Job description

General Description:

The maintenance position is responsible for the facility plant maintenance.

Days and Hours on Duty:

Tuesday‑Saturday 8:30-5:00

Maintenance workers are on duty at the facility daily. (See Personnel Report LIC 500)

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensures the physical plant is always maintained and safe for residents.
• Ensures the facility is always compliant with state and local regulations.
• Ensures all necessary facility plant repairs are completed in a timely manner.
• Ensures all facility tools and equipment are maintained and stored properly.
• Oversees all facility preventative and ongoing maintenance to resident rooms, bathrooms and common areas is completed as scheduled.
• Oversees all major facility equipment is always in good working order (facility appliances, heater, air conditioner, plumbing, etc.)
• Oversees that all furniture and fixtures are always in good condition.
• Identifies potential hazards or safety issues in the facility and corrects as needed.
• Implements both a monthly and annual facility maintenance and repair
• schedule.
• Has a checklist system to ensure the building is in working order including water temperature and kitchen equipment?
• Ensures that fire safety equipment and the building alarm system are always in working order.
• Ensures that the resident communication system is always in working order.
• Ensures policies and procedures for infection control, waste disposal and universal precaution are in place.
• Ensures that all work areas are clean, free of hazardous conditions and that all equipment and supplies are safely stored.
• Orders and maintains necessary maintenance parts and supplies.
• Oversees resident’s rooms are ready for move-in
• Reports to the Administrator if certain repairs will require a professional licensed repairperson such as plumber, etc.
• Will ensure that at no time resident’s rights are violated and any alleged abuse is reported.
• Understands what to do and who to call in case of a resident emergency.
