Pediatric Specialty Care (PSC) at Point Pleasant, PA is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our team!

Maintenance Assistant Overview:

The Maintenance team members assist with ensuring the health and wellbeing of our residents and staff by providing maintenance support. This position is responsible for ensuring overall building safety by being responsible for repairs to the buildings and furnishings as well as upkeep of the grounds including lawn care and snow/ice removal.

Seeking an individual available to work Monday through Friday 7:00am-3:00pm, with weekend call-in availability required. This is a great opportunity for future advancement within Pediatric Specialty Care! Experience in a healthcare environment is a PLUS.

Responsibilities

Maintenance Assistant:

  • Assist with and perform duties related to electricity, plumbing, painting, carpentry (including furniture refinishing or repair), mechanics (including equipment and mechanical systems), heating, cooling, and water systems (excluding services under outside contract).
  • Assist with and perform duties related to maintenance of grounds, parking lots, and driveways (including snow/ice removal, excluding services under outside contract).
  • Handle incoming and outgoing freight as needed; lift and move heavy furniture; drive company vehicle as needed/requested.
  • Observe residents' rights and treat all residents with courtesy, respect, and kindness. Attend facility and staff meetings, and participate in required or optional services. Generate ideas to improve quality of care or increase productivity and satisfaction. Demonstrate flexibility in responding to changing situations, reprioritizing work as necessary.
Qualifications

Must be at least 21 years old, with a high school diploma or equivalent. At least one year of related experience in maintenance, carpentry, contracting, etc. Valid driver’s license required. Experience with small hand tools, electric tools, lawn mowers, snowblowers, etc. Participation in facility on-call program, which may include working off-hours. Genuine concern for pediatric residents; dependable, patient, compassionate attitude. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English at an intermediate or higher level for a safe work environment and effective communication.
