Job summary

Mount Alverna Village in Parma, Ohio, part of Franciscan Ministries, is seeking a Maintenance Assistant for the full-time 2p-10:30pm shift. Join a vibrant senior living community offering independence, memory support, and skilled nursing services.

You will perform mechanical, electrical, plumbing and grounds work, with HVAC or welding experience a plus. A clean driving record, flexibility for weekends and holidays, and a client‑focused approach to caring for residents are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1-2 years of maintenance experience preferred; training available.
• Trade school and HVAC certification preferred.
• Clean driving record required for insurance.
• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Must enjoy working with the senior population.
• Must be able to work rotating weekends and holidays as needed.
• Reliable, energetic and self-motivated who truly enjoys working with the senior population.

Responsibilities

• Complete mechanical, building and grounds maintenance.
• Plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall and painting.
• Appliance and equipment repairs.
• Technology installations.
• HVAC, small engine repair, and/or welding experience is a plus.
• All other duties as assigned.

Mount Alverna Village, part of Franciscan Ministries, is a vibrant senior living community located in Parma, Ohio. We are a continuing care retirement community (CCRC), offering a variety of senior lifestyle options including independent living, memory support assisted living, and skilled nursing/ long-term care. Additionally, the onsite rehabilitation clinic offers inpatient and outpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapies, and state-of-the-art programs designed to enhance the quality of life for residents and patients in the local community. We are currently looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join our team!
